Dan Thomas
Founder and President



In 2017, Dan began offering his services as a commercial real estate lending consultant through DTC with a focus on analyzing and structuring complex transactions. In the first year, DTC underwrote over $60 billion in lending opportunities across the United States and advised on the closing of ~$1.71 billion in loans. With respect to DTC, Dan is responsible for identifying lending opportunities, providing overall guidance to the company, and making strategic decisions. Dan has over 40 years of real estate finance and capital markets experience.
During the prior 14 years, Dan started and ran the Real Estate Specialties Group (“RESG”) for Bank of the Ozarks (now Bank OZK) ultimately rising to become Chief Lending Officer and Vice Chairman of the Bank. Under Dan’s leadership, RESG originated, closed, and serviced approximately $24.59 Billion of senior debt across more than 800 transactions.

Prior to his time at RESG, Dan served as chief operating officer for a commercial real estate firm, a practice leader (real estate consulting) for Ernst & Young and as an attorney with Baker & McKenzie LLP.

Dan is a licensed attorney and certified public accountant in both Texas and Arkansas. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.S.B.A. (Accounting) and subsequently earned his M.B.A from the University of North Texas Graduate School of Business, J.D. from the University of Arkansas, and LL.M. (Taxation) from Southern Methodist University.
